Travel Destination to Jade Emperor, Penang, Malaysia

While enroute to the exit of the temple, someone passed me a book. I opened it and to my amazement, it was written in chinese. I need a translator.  I wonder what it means ?  The girl said that, the more you read, the luckier you get.  Want to give this magic book a try?  There are tons and tons of this free booklet at the Jade Emperor Pavilion entrance, remember to pick one up next time.

Just recently, about the summer of 2011, I went on a trip to Malaysia. It was so hot and humid and I can't possibly imagine how sweaty it was to climb on those enormous steps inorder to reach the temple. Well, you might say, what is all the hectic about on climbing a few steps. I can tell you that the problem lies with the strategic location of the temple being situated on the steep hilly plains of Penang hill. Even one tiny step requires an enormous amount of energy. Make sure you pack yourself with lots of energy snack bars. Or even better, stroll by the corner of Jalan Bukit Bendera and Ayer Hitam, where you find lots of heartfilling meals at a very reasonable price.  Just in the inside of the temple, you will find the main hall decorated with three huge Buddhas statues. In this hall, you can buy incenses and paper offerings at a very reasonable price. You may also request for lotus candles that come in three sizes.

Climb up to the next pavilion and you shall see the Jade Emperor on a throne flanked by Jade Maidens.
This place is even more busy especially on the lunar calendar of 1 month 9th day. Do remember to drop by the Jade Emperor Temple when you visit the Penang Hill, especially when those two tourist attraction are very closely situated within the vicinity of each other.

Tiring

I did something memorable on the Sunday of October 2' 2011. Guess what I did? Shopping at Home Depot? Hint.....lots of legs, sweats and panting. Nothing dirty. In fact I would strongly recommend.

Give up guessing already? I signed up for CIBC Run for the Cure for Breast Cancer awareness. Huh, I guess nothing naughty right?
